Please note: This band is based off of real life Canadian series Ed, Edd n Eddy. The band itself, however, is fictional and unrelated.

Ed was a comedy rock and grindcore band mainly featuring Matt Hill.

History[edit | edit source]

Early history[edit | edit source]

Ed was originally formed to promote the first series of then-new Cartoon Network show Ed, Edd n Eddy. Its first album was released in 1999. Songs were written as early as 1998.

Comedy rock years (1999-2002)[edit | edit source]

Ed toured the USA in 1999 to promote the show and album. A short tour in Canada took place in January 2000. After several albums and tours, Ed released a split single with Grim in 2002. Later that year, Williams Street convinced the band to change direction towards grindcore and widen its audience beyond pre-teens.

Grindcore years (2002-2008)[edit | edit source]

With the 2003 album Fourth Album of Ed the band headed towards a grindcore direction. With this album, Matt took complete control of composition and scrapped the costumes. Lyrical themes became considerably more violent. In 2007 the band toured wth Grim and Dethklok.

Final year (2009)[edit | edit source]

With the show Ed, Edd n Eddy coming to an end, the project once again became a band and recorded a new single in their old comedy rock style, which would be their first release under Cartoon Network since 2002. The band went on one final tour and headlined Edfest, a one day one stage festival at the end of the tour in Ontario, Canada.
